Bruce McDonald - Vocals and Harmonica
Bruce – also from the original 80s line up, is Harp Man! – and backing
vocals.
Bruce uses 8 different key Lee Oskar harmonicas on stage and has 8
backups. He also uses Hohner
Meisterklasse, A and E harmonicas.
A trusty 1980s Fender Pro Junior upgraded valve amp provides a great
sound, with “more grunt” – as described by Bruce – from a tweaked circuit
board.
He is eagerly awaiting a new Mallard amp, similar to that used by Eagles
guitarist Joe Walsh. It will be
specially constructed for harmonica, driving 25 watts through a 15” speaker.
Bruce’s first band was The Banshees, with Bryan Ferry.
